About Mobile A11y
#

Mobile A11y is a blog about building accessible mobile apps written by a mobile developer and accessibility expert. The site is intended to be practical, and mostly code-focused, but you might also find thoughts on testing and design for mobile accessibility too.

The site is aimed at developers rather than accessibility users. If you’re looking for guidance on using accessibility features on your device, the best places to start are Apple’s accessibility support pages and Android’s accessibility documentation.

About Rob Whitaker

Rob is a Senior iOS Engineer and a mobile accessibility specialist with a background that includes time on the accessibility team at Apple. He’s an invited expert on the WCAG Mobile Accessibility Task Force, a conference speaker, and the author of Developing Inclusive Mobile Apps (Apress) — a book for developers who believe that building for everyone isn’t a nice-to-have.

He’s spent his career at the intersection of clean Swift and inclusive design, which turns out to be a less crowded place than it should be. If you think Rob might be able to help with something, feel free to get in touch — he’s always happy to have a conversation.
